Looking for Senior People
The Software Tools / Linux Administrator works within the IT department and is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware infrastructure. Assists project teams with technical issues in the initiation, planning and execution. These activities include the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy, research & development within the project life-cycle, technical analysis and design, and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions. Participation on projects is focused on smoothing the transition of projects from development to production by performing operations activities within the development life-cycle. This individual is accountable for supporting the Linux environment and associated infrastructure, security and performance including provisioning, operations, support and maintenance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Installs, configures, and maintains Linux (Red Hat) operating systems.
• Analyzes and resolves problems associated with servers, hardware, applications, and software.
• Maintains usability and connectivity of test and production equipment.
• Monitors systems performance and ensures compliance with security standards.
• Provides support to the SW development community and the SW integration teams.
• Develops strong partnerships with Software Development community.
• Provides support for distributed source control and its synchronization. (SVN)
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Internally recognized specialist on complex technical matters. Uses experience to solve a wide variety of complex user problems within the software development community. Proactive solution generator to customer needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Linux (Red Hat) environment.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and globally with software development teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to translate and analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats.
• Excellent customer service skills, with an advanced understanding of customer relationship building.
• Ability to use MS Office.
JOB COMPLEXITY
Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises independent judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise.
INDEPENDENCE
Generally free to determine work priorities based on general direction from managers. Proactively identifies potential issues and brings potential solutions to managers. May provide a leadership role for the work group through advanced knowledge in his/her area of specialization.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Specialist in advanced technical or business skills. Individuals with a customer focus have developed the acumen to cultivate and develop lasting customer relations. Minimum of seven (7) years of experience is required
• Degree in Computer Science preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years system administration experience
• Preferred Linux certification, such as Red Hat.
• Writes scripting in Perl, Python and Bash.
• Demonstrates initiative and problem solving attitude.
• Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
