Title: Senior Business Intelligence Developer – Pentaho Development

Duration: 12 months

Location: Washington DC

Rate: $50 per hour on C2C

Client: USAC

 

 

Note: Must have Pantaho Development Experience. Hiring manager will be conducting initial phone screens and then selecting candidates for in-person/Skype interviews.  Candidates should be available to interview and start IMMEDIATELY.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

OVERALL PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Serves as technical team leader in the development of business intelligence solutions and other reports and analysis across all divisions of the organization.

Writes complex SQL scripts to extract data from various databases and systems to make data available for enterprise reporting.

Provides day-to-day management of overall reporting environment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

·         Serve as technical team lead in the development of business intelligence reports and analysis, providing mentoring, guidance and troubleshooting to analysis team members in solving complex reporting and analytical problems.

·         Manage reporting environment including report data sources, security, subscriptions and metadata.

·         Assist in initiative towards data normalization and data integrity across the enterprise.

·         Assist Data Warehouse Engineer in identifying and revising enterprise reporting requirements

·         Evaluate, test and implement new or upgraded software.

·         Troubleshoot reported problems pertaining to reports and the reporting database environment, working closely with other IT members, especially DBAs, Systems Analysts and Systems Engineers, identifying the cause and designing or developing an approach for resolution.

·         Assess impact of changes and updates to source production systems, planning and implementing resulting changes to reports.

·         Conduct end user training on reporting system.

 

Must Have Skills:

·         Experience with Pentaho Data Integration

·         Experience with Data Modelling

·         Experience with Data Warehousing

·         Experience with ETL, Jobs, Scheduling Maintenance etc.

·         Experience with Pentaho Business Analytics

·         Experience working with HP Vertica or any other Columnar Database

 

Desired Skills:

·         Microsoft SQL Server 2012/2014

·         HP Vertica

·         Amazon Redshift

·         Pentaho BI Suite.

·         Pentaho PDI

·         Any other BI Tools like Business Objects, Cognos etc.

·         Team Foundation Server

·         Erwin

·         TOAD for Oracle.

·         Creating visual displays for data analysis and presentation
