Description
Seeking a SAN Engineer with the following responsibility:
• Work with a team of SAN engineers and Backup engineers
• Engage and support directly with the customer and vendor's in a 24x7x365 environment
• Review, improve, and maintain standards and build configurations
• Manage, provision, de-provision and catalog storage
• Perform capacity management and forecasting
• Make recommendations for future storage requirements
• Design and implement SAN infrastructure solutions including integration with third party software and hardware focused on several different EMC storage platforms.
• Identify and develop process and improvements, tools and capabilities
• Monitor and tune performance in an on-going basis
Qualifications
• Extensive SAN experience of supporting the SAN environments.
• Excellent communications skill
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior level engineers
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects
• Excellent client relationship skills
• Available to support customer and team 24X7x365 if required
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot SAN issues, monitor, diagnose and resolve in a timely manner.
• Broad knowledge on provisioning LUNs from hosts to arrays
• Required Skills in the following areas:
o 3PAR 7400/7450
o HP StorageWorks MPX200
• Preferred Skills in the following areas:
o HP ProLiant Servers
o HP C7000 Blade Technology
o ESX Virtualization
o EMC Storage Platforms
o EMC Centera technology
• Strong documentation skills is an absolute must – both technical deployment guides and process documentation.
• Knowledge in a broad range of storage devices including but not limited to: VMAX 20k, VMAX 3, DMX4, Clarion CX4, VNX series, Isilon X and NL, XtremIO, SL3000
• Knowledge of thin provision and tiering on the VMAX
• Prior experience working in US government datacenter environment.
• ITIL experience
• Data SAN Migration experience
