· Minimum 4-5 years of experience.
· Must have a B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
· Korn shell proficiency is absolutely mandatory.
· Incumbent is responsible for testing, installing, maintaining and improving IBM AIX systems; maintaining and improving the AIX operating system and the IBM Power hardware; analyzing system requirements effectively; testing and installing system software; testing and installing 3rd Party software; testing and installing peripheral devices.
· Job requires an in-depth knowledge of the IBM Power hardware and the AIX operating system, VIO, NetApp, networking and distributed computing environment concepts, routing principles, and client/server programming concepts.
· Job requires an in-depth knowledge of the IBM Power system architecture and management. The incumbent must have a solid understanding of the WebSphere Java, Web and Database systems.
· Job requires a comprehensive knowledge of network management products, ADSM and Tivoli Storage Manager for backup and recovery, Performance Toolbox, Korn shell, the VI editor, and some C/C++ programming language.
· Job requires a comprehensive knowledge of network protocols; DNS concepts; DOS and Windows operating systems; and PC software setup for MS/Windows, Lotus Excel, MS/Word, MS/PowerPoint and other products as necessary.
