  Hands - on Teradata DBA 

Long term contract 

Los Angeles, CA 

Responsible for the following:

• Lead or participate in gathering business and data requirements
• Lead analysis of source systems, performing through Data Profiling and Data Quality analysis
• Design suitable data model and semantic layers for the Data Warehouse/Analytical Reporting
• Define underlying data sources and transformation requirements
• Develop and ensure compliance with data modeling best practices and standards
• Define and document the source to target mappings for data Integration
• Participate and consult on ETL and Reporting design
• Document Metadata and Business Glossary for the Business Units / Subject area supported
• As the expert on the data for the subject areas supported, lead and consult on Data validation and data related issues
• Manage enterprise data model, documenting all metadata in the current data warehouse environment
• Teradata DBA activities including high performance physical database design & performance tuning.
• Physically implement the database design on Teradata
• Participate in deploying the DB changes through various environments

Mentor junior IT staff as needed to develop data analysis and data modeling skills
