Job description

The Network Security Administrator monitors and manages corporate security devices and applications including Firewalls, Intruder Detection/Prevention Systems, Patch management Systems, Certificate Authority, Proxy Servers, Anti-Virus, Email Filters, Web Content Filters and SSL Taps. Provides expert security consultancy during requirements, design and planning phases of the development cycle. Analyzes and resolves security breaches and vulnerability issues in a timely manner. Conducts user activity audits when required.

 Intrusion Detection Systems – IDS Needed

Any certification is OK. 

SANS Security Essentials (GSEC), Security +, or CISSP certification preferred or on track to be certified 

 

Certifications:

• SANS Security Essentials (GSEC), Security +, or CISSP certification preferred or on track to be certified

 

Experience:

• Cisco experience preferred

• 2 years professional hands on experience with Intrusion Detection Systems, firewalls, and routers including policy/ACL creation/review and log review desired

• 2 years professional hands on experience performing network scanning and penetration testing including policy creation and analysis of results desired

• SANS SEC-503 level understanding of Intrusion Analysis

• Experience with SSL VPN authentication and configuration

• Intermediate vulnerability scanning and forensics 

• Extensive experience with Windows and UNIX operating systems

• Demonstrated experience with compliance and information security, including security policy and procedure implementation and risk assessment

• IT Audit or Project Management background helpful

• Demonstrated working knowledge of state and federal regulations including: HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley and PCI

• Knowledge of common protocols such as SNMP, HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, NTP, LDAP, KERBEROS, RADIUS, DNS, IKE, IPSEC, SSL/TLS and FTP

• Experience with certificate administration including PKI

. Knowledge of multiple operating systems and connectivity
