Role: Epic Clinical Report Developer

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Duration: Long-term

 

Position Summary: 

The primary role of the senior clinical report developer is to support MinuteClinic's reporting and contractual data exchange needs.  The successful candidate will be a Microsoft and Epic-certified seasoned report developer with strong SQL skills and a healthcare background.  The clinical report developer will participate with cross-functional teams in requirements gathering efforts to support business reporting needs in order to develop reports, Epic dashboards and data extracts, utilizing a variety of data sources, including but not limited to Epic Chronicles, Epic Clarity, and Epic Data Warehouse (CDW).  Additionally, this candidate will serve as a technical resource for other team members.

 

Responsibilities

1.            Participate in business analysis activities with internal and external customers to gather required reporting, extract, and dashboard requirements.                   10%

2.            Translate business requirements into technical specifications that will be used to build the required reports, extracts and dashboards, from multiple data sources.                    20%

3.            Design, develop and implement technology reporting, extract, and data warehouse solutions in accordance with MinuteClinic Reporting team design and development standards.                            50%

4.            Serve as technical resource for teammates in the areas of SQL, SSIS, Chronicles, Clarity and CDW.             10%

5.            Serve as technical point of contact with internal and external customers for integrated testing and implementation activities.             5%

6.            Report status and issues to internal and external Project Managers, providing alternatives and recommendations for issue resolution.        5%

 

•             Epic Certifications:

o             Clarity Data Model

o             Cogito Data Warehouse

•             Microsoft Certified

 

1.            Strong experience writing and performance tuning complex SQL queries and SSIS packages.

2.            Strong experience working with SQL Server 2005 - 2012 databases and data/reporting tools (Information Services, Analysis Services, Reporting Services).

3.            Strong knowledge of logical and physical data modeling, and data warehouse concepts (relational and dimensional).

4.            Ability to work with internal and external clinical and business users, translating requirements into technical design.

5.            Working knowledge of Tableau software or other BI tools.

6.            Experience in EHR reporting, clinical dashboards, and quality metrics.

7.            Proficiency with SAP Business Objects product suite.

8.            Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

9.            Ability to work with minimal supervision.

10.          Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust quickly to changing priorities.
