Technical skills and Knowledge:

 

Primary Skills:   MS SQL Server DBA

 

Responsibilities:

 

-    Installation, upgrade and maintenance of MS SQL Server Databases – Both physical and virtual

-    Performance Tuning and Troubleshooting

-    Support, configuration and troubleshooting of database related 3rd party tools

-    Perform hot and cold backups of systems

-    Communicate and interact with broad client base

-    Create and maintain technical documentation

-    Availability for after hours and/or weekend support for unplanned and planned maintenance

-    Perform other duties as assigned by the Managed Services team

 

REQUIREMENTS:

-       Some level of professional training:  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or extensive MS SQL Server Training (classroom)

-       Five + years of experience in senior level assignments with MS SQL Server database administration and design on windows platforms

-       Extensive experience with software installation, clustering technologies, backup, recovery, troubleshooting, performance tuning and monitoring

-       MS SQL Server Database (2008, 2012, 2014, 2016)

-       Experience with Advanced Architecture including Clustering, Disaster Recovery, Load Balancing, firewall, SSO, SSL, etc.

-       Experience in utilizing Microsoft SQL Server Database tools and/or 3rd party tools

-       Knowledge of other Microsoft applications is a plus (Azure, Sharepoint, etc.)

-      Intimate knowledge of Microsoft Operating System
