Job Overview
The R D IT Solution Design Deliver (SD D) group within the clients Technology Business Solutions (TBS) focuses on the design and implementation of solutions that deliver business outcomes for the Research, Development, and Medical functions within the client. The SD D group works within a Plan, Build, Run operating model and is organized around platforms and functional areas. During the Plan phase, the SD D group works with Enterprise Architecture and the Functional IT team to contribute to technology selection and high level design. The SD D group then leverages skillsets to design, build, and deploy solutions that meet business requirements and then transitions these solutions to the Run team for ongoing support and maintenance.
The Worldwide Medical group within the clients R D plays an important role in making a meaningful difference in the lives of the client's patients by interacting with and supporting HCPs, clinical study Investigators and other external stakeholders.
This role will work through all phases of the SDLC for assigned projects, primarily focused on the Medical vertical, and will be responsible for delivery of key milestones and Build phase deliverables. Ability to leverage technical expertise, coordination skills, and experience working within complex projects will contribute to success in this role.
PLAN MANAGE
• Ensure detailed design alignment with the high level design / logical design from Enterprise Architect
• Provide project-specific technical resource and activity management, bridging the gap between vendors and the client
• Develop infrastructure requirements to facilitate hw/sw environment build outs
• Develop data migration plan for a project that clearly defines data migration strategy
• Contribute to hyper care planning with project team and support resources to ensure a well-defined and appropriately resourced hyper care period post go-live
BUILD DEPLOY
• Develop and execute software IQs that ensure proper installation as specified by the clients and vendor requirements
• Develop/provide oversight for code/configuration and unit testing to ensure proper operation
• Develop data migration report that documents the results of data migration test runs
• Develop service transition plan and work with appropriate support team resources to ensure a smooth shift to Run
• Reference and complete all necessary activities associated with the Run checklist so that the support team has all the material they need to effectively support the system post go-live
• Develop/manage a cutover plan that ensures a smooth transition from legacy system to new
• Overall 10-15 years of relevant experience
• Application Design, Architecture and Development experience in Biotech/Pharma industry
• IT Development/Technical management experience
• Experience working with outsourced service providers a plus
• Experience working with offshore delivery teams a plus
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Systems, or associated field required

• Good listening skills with ability to make timely well-informed decisions
• Ability to translate business requirements and architecture designs into system designs
• Ability to track project activities and track progress to business value realization, escalating where necessary
• Salesforce.com and Veeva CRM, Vault, and Events hands-on design and configuration experience
• Lightweight DBA skills (querying, view/script development, schema and user deployment)
