Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY: 
The Hyperion Consultant position will be part of the IT Hyperion team that is primary responsible for analysis, design, implementation, maintenance and operational aspects of the Hyperion Planning and Essbase Applications. This Consultant will be primarily responsible for the projects (Upgrades, new applications, etc.) and user support during UAT phases of such projects. 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
The consultant will have following general responsibilities, depending on the project he/she is assigned to: 
1. Develop new ASO, BSO and/or Planning application as outlined in Technical Design Document. 
2. Work with Tech Lead to analyze business requirements to define and design technical solutions 
3. Perform enhancements/development based on the technical requirements 
4. Monitor audit logs and system activity to ensure a stable Hyperion environment. Review nightly processes to ensure accuracy of data. Address issues with the appropriate team (network, DW, …) 
5. Support UAT and Cut-Over phases of the projects 
6. Identify and solve problems using analysis, experience, and decision making 

Education: Bachelor's Degree in computer science 

Experience / Background: 
· 5 to 7 years' experience in Essbase development, including automation. Knowledge of MAXL, batch processes, BSO and ASO applications is required. VB script knowledge is a plus 
· 5 to 7 years' experience in Hyperion Planning development, ODI development 
· Experience and good understanding of GL systems, brand analysis, consolidation and reporting. Ability to interact with other departments (at all levels) in order to harmonize shared information across the company 
· Experience with Hyperion version upgrade and new implementations are required. 2-3 preferred. 
· Experience with Performance Tuning, Automation, redesign of applications (Planning and ASO/BSO) required. 

Skills / Competencies: 
· Solid communication skills, both written and oral, are mandatory to handle relation with Finance 
· Must be organized and focused. Attention to detail is important 
· Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines. Flexibility to adjust to new requirements and multitasking 
· Ability to meet tight deadlines – may require overtime 
· Expert competency in – Essbase (BSO AND ASO), MXL, .BAT, Calculation Scripts, Performance Tuning, Automation, Planning, Web Forms, Calc Manager, Load Rules, ODI, SmartView, MDX, Report Scripts 
· Good competency in – SQL, VBA, Hyperion Reports
