Roles & Responsibilities
• Translates business requirements into technical requirements
• Decomposes mainframe code and JCL to identify business rules
• Performs gap analysis to identify risks and opportunities for improvement between business process flows and proposed solution
• Creates workflow diagrams to document current and future business environment
• Ensures accuracy of technical requirements/specifications for hand off to development team
• Works with QA to review test plans for completeness and accuracy
• Acts as a liaison between business stakeholders and the development team
• Participates in the development of the release plan and timelines
• Actively collaborates with and aligns to information, data security and infrastructure standards and guidelines
• Works with delivery teams to ensure requirements are well understood and translated correctly.
Generic Managerial Skills
• Actively participates in status calls, team meetings, retrospectives and process improvement initiatives
• Tracks progress of project to ensure alignment to requirements; manages any deviations from requirements to ensure resolution
Urgent Requirement: Network Engineer (IL)
Role : Network Engineer
Work Location : Naperville, IL
Duration of assignment (in Months) : Long Term
Responsibilities:
• Client-focused individual with excellent communication skills who has the ability to communicate network and firewall concepts and challenges effectively to both technical and non-technical people
• Work closely with our managed service customers during the on-boarding phase which includes establishing VPN connections to our customer's firewall
• Configure, deploy, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices
• Monitor the network and resolve network-related events and alerts
• Maintain inventory and network environment documentations
• Respond to, troubleshoot, resolve, and escalate network-related incidents and problems
• Develop maintenance plans and execute upgrades for network services, firewalls and devices
• Implement new client LAN and WAN network topology
• Troubleshoot routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, STP)
• Communicate effectively with clients, engineers, and non-technical co-workers
• Configure and manage complex firewall flows and policies on Fortigate firewalls and on FortiManager.
• Experienced with performing root cause analysis, risk identification, and risk mitigation
• Must be able to work independently as well as in a highly collaborative team environment
• Perform other duties as required to help the team achieve its objectives
• Possess effective verbal and written communications as well as strong organizational skills
• Reviews project requirements to determine goals, timeframe, procedures for accomplishing project, technician requirements, and allotment of resources.
• Willing to Off hours and weekends as needed
• Be on a rotational on-call status for 7 days
Experience Required
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field or equivalent experience
• At least 5+ years of experience * Network-related certifications or education such as a CCNP, CCNA is ideal.
• Excellent understanding of OSI Model and computer networking (TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs) including knowledge of basic network topologies
• Experience with Fortinet Firewalls, FortiManager, Juniper Switches, Cisco IOS,
• Enthusiasm for technology and excellent troubleshooting skills
• Set up multi-site VPN tunnels, SSL VPN, IPSEC VPN and encryption on Fortinet, Juniper MAG2600, Cisco ASA devices.
• Experience with FortiOS, Cisco ASA, or other firewall technology a plus
• ITIL Certification is ideal.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, PCI
• Understanding of core services and enterprise applications (Microsoft AD, LDAP, DNS, SMTP)
• Understanding of data center and cloud infrastructure (VMware, x86 Servers, SAN)
• Experience with server, storage, Windows, Linux, or end-user technologies a plus
• Ability to work under pressure as part of a technical team who supports managed services solutions.
