| Roles & Responsibilities | • Negotiate/ review contracts on Agrium behalf for renewals and net new Analyst Working closely with appropriate Agrium partners, this position performs activities within the IT Procurement Operations function. This will include: · Generate purchase requisitions, prepare and process purchase orders, review supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness, and verify vendor information. · Manage and maintain IT vendor contracts and amendments (including all associated contractual documentation), including the indexing of key terms and contract elements, the uploading of all contract documentation into an IT contract repository, and monitoring of adherence to Agrium contract management practices. · Proactively monitor contract status, communicate key contract elements, and convey key contract milestones (e.g., impending expirations and renewals) to Agrium stakeholders as necessary. · Collaborate with across Agrium IT, making recommendations for improved effectiveness and efficiency for IT Procurement systems, tools, and templates, and support the implementation of any new systems, tools, and templates (including the deployment of systems, tools, and templates that are currently being developed). · Vendor interaction regarding quotes, invoices, contracts to support Vendor Management · Participate in the development and maintenance of enterprise-wide IT Procurement policies and procedures. · Participate in the implementation, and administration of electronic vendor catalog tools. · Ensure compliance with Agrium's IT Procurement policies by proactively and effectively communicating these policies to internal and external stakeholders, and monitoring and managing enterprise-wide adherence. · Support Agrium IT Strategic Sourcing Leads by collaborating and providing input about demand management (e.g., usage, consumption), compliance management, and vendor management requirements. · Collaborate with the Accounts Payables, vendors and business owners as required on vendor invoice discrepancies. · Assist with the development and ongoing maintenance of vendor scorecards, which gauge vendor performance and organizational compliance with contracts Sourcing/Procurement Working closely with appropriate Agrium partners, this position will develop and maintain the processes around the network and telecom spend category. This will include: · Primary role in leading the effort to transition the Telecom activities to a Managed Service provider. · Develop, champion, and ensure implementation of category management principles that will optimize total cost of ownership for assigned spend category. · Assist in developing and executing IT category management strategies to include risk assessments, overall market, industry and supply base analysis, and category and vendor segmentation. · Track forecasted vs actual savings for the assigned spend category and be responsible for communicating performance against these measures and their potential budgetary impact. · Manage vendor development/relationships collaboratively with IT and business end-users to ensure continuity of good and services that meet or exceed the quality, service, and price performance standards of the company. · Using network and telecom expertise, develop contract negotiation strategies, and assist in driving contract negotiations to achieve stated goals and objectives. · Remain current with category market trends and the capabilities of leading vendors; identify and communicate new technologies and solutions to key problems in the network and telecom spend category. · Participate in the development and maintenance of enterprise-wide IT category management policies and procedures. · Work collaboratively with business stakeholders to monitor and ensure compliance with Agrium's IT sourcing and procurement policies and procedures by effectively communicating these policies to internal and external stakeholders, and monitoring and managing enterprise-wide compliance. · Work collaboratively with business stakeholders to analyze, monitor, and manage internal demand for IT goods and services within assigned spend category. · Work collaboratively with the buyers and users of IT goods and services to determine the right sourcing approach (e.g., competitive bid vs. spot buy), construct sourcing and contract documentation to facilitate vendor selection (e.g., RFP), and negotiate and execute agreements. · Determine strategy for onboarding Telecom vendors via batch processing requirements and file setup for AP submission. · Work with the Agrium Procurement Operations team, IT managers, and buyers to streamline and improve sourcing and vendor management processes. · Participate in activities focused on improving effectiveness and efficiency for IT category management systems, tools and templates, including the evaluation of new tools to support IT sourcing and vendor management improvement objectives. · Collaborate effectively across different organizational levels, functions, businesses, and geographies to realize IT category management goals and objectives. · Coordinate with Telecom Expense Management function to identify spend and rate elements at above-market prices and develop strategies to bring pricing within market norms. · Utilize rate control terms within agreements to maintain pricing in alignment with market through the contract lifecycle. · Use knowledge of network and telecom (voice and data) to consistently implement terms that properly protect the company and maximize commercial flexibility. · Maintain current knowledge of telecom provider offerings in the US, Canada, and worldwide, including experience with Verizon, AT&T, Rogers, Telus, and consolidators such as Granite. · Maintain awareness of changes in network technology and provider offerings and assess business implications and opportunities arising from new network and telecom provider offerings.
· Maintain and improve methods to identify and communicate marketplace expertise, including supply risk, competitive threats, demand management trends, internal purchasing behavior, and pricing strategies. · Drive a comprehensive analytical approach to measure and interpret category performance and provide qualitative and quantitative assessment to the IT organization. · Provide process and policy enforcement for the IT Category Management function across Agrium. · Generate organizational metrics/reporting to monitor and report on assigned spend category performance. |
