The Software Developer brings specific technical knowledge about the development of software and the tools needed to undertake development and to package the outcome. This role is focused on programming required for custom application development, custom ETL functions, and any other areas requiring hand coding. Languages may include JAVA, HTML, C, and others. The role is additionally applicable to custom and advanced SQL development. The Software Developer will participate in the requirements gathering, design, development, packaging, and implementation of software. The Software Developer provides leadership in utilizing a defined software development methodology to develop software and in the most appropriate use of the available tools. The Software Developer may be the Lead Consultant on a project.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work in a cross-functional team to develop a compelling interactive, fast and easy to use Web and Eclipse based enterprise applications used by Global 500 companies across industries and worldwide.
• You firmly believe that user experience is the responsibility of every software engineer.
• Must be able to architect, design, develop, document and implement software across product lines leveraging agile and continuous delivery methodologies.
• Collaborates with other Developers, Architects, UX, Product Owners and Testers in a highly transparent Agile organization, with defined iterations, continuous integration and a drive for quality.
• Takes ownership for vision and follow-through in developing applications using Java, Angular 2.0, JavaScript, CSS and Open Source Frameworks with world-class performance and usability profiles.
• Ability to engineer applications and web services that can run in the cloud, on-premise or in hybrid environments.
• Must be able to debug complicated customer and product issues and provide fixes and/or solutions in a timely manner.
Skills & Attributes:
• Expert in Java and JavaScript, with strong experience in developing dynamic Web applications using DOM-scripting and OO JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS.
• Expert knowledge of object oriented design.
• Experience with web technologies, including Angular 2.0, Spring, Bootstrap, CSS, JSON, REST, etc.
• Knowledge of web application optimization techniques to improve page load times and performance using web profiling tools.
• Thorough understanding of the inner-workings of rich dynamic web applications.
• Experience using 'agile' approaches in releasing high-value products.
• Experience designing and developing Web and Eclipse based applications.
• Experience with Test Automation.
• Knowledge of Relational Databases and SQL.
• Knowledge of Data Mining, Statistics and Analytics highly desired.
Qualifications:
• US Permanent Residence or Green Card
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related – Master's degree a plus
• 7+ years of experience in software design & development
• 5+ years working experience with Java, JavaScript, C# and "as a Service" offerings
• 3+ year experience with REST, JSON, Web Services, Spring, Git, Openstack
• Experience with or knowledge of the design and construction of relational database application software
• Excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills
• Data Mining and Analytics experience desired
• SQL experience (Teradata Database knowledge and experience preferred)
