Role: Data Architect
Location: Monterey Park, CA
Duration: 12+ Months
Requirement:
- Know dimensional data warehousing
- Be able to prepare mapping specs
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel and PowerPoint esp.)
- Strong ER/Win user
- Strong verbal skills, able to present via Webex or conference calls
- Strong writing skills, esp. when it comes to explaining data testing results or design alternatives
- Ability to produce data flow diagrams to depict data processing functionality
Activities required:
- Determine the correct design for the problem at hand
- Conduct data profiling
- Write the DDL (including GRANTs, synonyms, etc.)
- Develop a space estimate and partitioning strategy
- Determine indexing needs
- Create/enhance data model
- Create the CM in HP SM
- Promote the code to DEV
- Unit test data in DEV
- Document the unit test results in DEV
- Promote the code to TST
- Unit test the data in TST
- Document the results in TST
- Create the CM document (implementation plan, etc.)
- Update the CM itself
- Get the CM approved
- Promote the code to production
- Validate the code in production
- Validate the data in production
- Register final disposition of the CM and close it
