Data Architect

Minneapolis, MN

Job Description:

Client is seeking a skilled Data Architect to contribute to the design, management, and implementation of its enterprise data warehousing solutions.  The candidate will focus on the architecture and deployment of our Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and Point-Of-Sale (POS) standard data model.

 

Responsibilities:

Design technical solutions that are scalable, aligned with the enterprise architecture and can adapt to changes in business.

Collaborate with application, solution, and technical architects to understand the implications of respective architectures to maximize the value of information across the organization.

Perform a variety of in-depth data analysis, data modeling, and data administration tasks on complicated datasets with potentially complex data integration scenarios with limited supervision.

Provide technical leadership and guidance to project team members

Produce technical documentation and diagrams based on industry best practices and standards.

Contribute to efforts with DBAs, analysts, and application specialists and other key stakeholders to optimize system performance, security, maintenance and reliability.

Provide technical stewardship for the data in the data warehouse and how it is to be used in downstream reporting applications

Assist in the coordination and validation of work performed by external contract resources

Research and evaluate emerging technologies for applicability and adoption

 

Qualifications

8+ years of Enterprise-level experience in Enterprise Data Warehouse development, analysis, configuration, and deployment

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology or similar

Proven knowledge and experience implementing BI/Data Warehouse solutions

Thorough understanding of data modeling and experience in modeling techniques.

Expert knowledge of SQL, tuning, and data extraction, load, and transformation methodologies.

Oracle database development and design experience (10/11g)

Experience modeling out of an ERP System, Oracle EBS (11i) preferred

Understanding of enterprise data integration best practices, and features such as master data management, entity resolution, data quality assessment, metadata management.

Experience working with Transactional Data, Analytical Data, and Data Governance/Administration.

Working knowledge of ETL and Data integration techniques. Informatica Power Center Preferred.

Prior Exposure to MicroStrategy, SalesForce and Qlikview are a plus

Experience with Sales and/or Marketing Analytics

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills

Ability to adapt to fast paced and rapidly changing environment

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
