Network Security Engineer

We are currently looking for A Network Security Engineer with Cable experience for our Client.  This role is a contract position for 6+ months. 

JOB SUMMARY

The Security Engineering team is responsible for defining company policy and providing implementation guidelines for all security related technologies associated to hardware (including software revisions) and configurations.  This position includes responsibilities for budgeting guidelines, interfacing between the different Operational security teams, auditing of all security standards on an annual basis, problem escalation, and vendor operational concerns/issues. This work requires a mix of non-real-time and real-time analysis of all security standards documentation.  This includes engineering designs, implementation guidelines, and field bulletins for equipment and technology upgrades on Networks. Further duties entail thorough review of design specification, lab testing, and company work group communication on all new and existing security related topics.

Additional obligations include ensuring confidentiality, availability and integrity of in-house information systems and processes across the company infrastructure. This is achieved by participating in the development of new security processes, tools and interfacing with business units to mitigate exposures to the business while permitting the business to function efficiently. The position will have continued involvement with the various teams to maintain existing security infrastructure, network surveillance technology, intrusion detection solutions, endpoint protection, data leakage protection, and encryption solutions.

This position reports to the Advanced Engineering Director of Security and does not have any direct reports.
