Must Haves:
· 3-5 years SQL DBA experience

Job Responsibilities
• Work under the direct supervision of Senior Software Engineers to develop new database systems and software products
• Develop complex ETL and analytics programs using SQL/HQL, stored procedures, SQOOP and various query tools and engines
• Responsible for software development in a database environment utilizing PostgreSQL, Hive and NoSQL technologies
• Analyze business system requirements and design technical solutions based on those requirements
• Design and code new and existing applications and components
• Participate in code reviews
• Perform unit testing and integration testing
• Perform day-to-day troubleshooting of issues relating to QA and Production
• Write technical documents as part of methodology established within the department
• Work closely on a team of Analysts, Developers, Q/A and documentation personnel
• Contribute to software development process standards
Requirements
• Requires a four-year degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Computer/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum three years working as a database engineer or a related role.
• Strong SQL and stored procedure expertise. You can write a query to do almost anything.
• Database tuning experience. Optimize queries using explain plan and other performance tuning.
• Knowledge and know-how to troubleshoot potential issues; experience with best practices around database operations.
• ETL experience required.
• The position will be working in a complex, heterogeneous environment including Hadoop that is highly available, multitenant secure and modular.
• Familiarity with enterprise systems and scaled agile development will definitely benefit candidates, as well as Linux, git and familiarity with continuous integration / deployment (we use the Atlassian stack).
• Familiarity with technologies such as Hive, HBase, Spark-SQL, Drill, etc. a plus.
• Experience implementing analytics and reporting platforms within an ETL fed data warehouse environment a strong plus.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge from schooling and years of experience.
• GIS experience a plus.
