Job Title:                      Business Analyst 

Location:                      NYC, NY

Duration:                      12+ Months/Contract

Interview: Telephonic and Face to Face

Major activities in the scope of this assessment will be to:

1. Fully document the end-to-end business process and technologies used (or to be used) for the process.

 2. Identify areas for process and technology improvements Assist with coordination and oversight of certain assignments. Follow-up with the stakeholders. Assisting business users, project managers and IT leadership in optimizing the scope, benefits and risks of proposed projects; help manage expectations of users and management.

3. Analyze impact of change requests.

 4. Coordinate and work with vendor on service requests and bug fixes.

5. Perform testing and validation.

6. Understand and trace any issues with network model operation. Business Analyst w/ Technology/App Development background - Electrical Engg. Knowledge/degree preferred.

Experience Business analyst required that has demonstrable experience in business requirements/process analysis.

 Candidates must have: Excellent spoken/written communication and presentation skills.

Proven ability to facilitate discussions and meetings with user groups (up to 10 or more participants) including subject matter experts and managers, elicit document business requirements in these meetings.

Ability to provide business solutions and explain/document in detailed manner.

Familiarity with UML, specifically use case diagram, use case specifications, statechart diagram, sequence/activity diagrams and flowcharts.

Experience and high comfort level using Microsoft Visio and Word to create the above diagrams.

 Broad understanding of business process analysis/design, business rules, databases, software development lifecycle (SDLC) and understanding of web applications and related technologies.

Ability to survey & assess packaged software solutions that match business requirements.

 Experience in Utilities industry a plus!

The following are not required for this position but would be considered as a valuable asset in a potential candidate.

- Basic understanding of Linux, Korn Shell scripting, basic SQL, networking, Java technologies - weblogic server, Linux Services, Daemon, crontab, etc. - Project Management skills
