Android Developer

Duration: At least 6 months (likely to go longer to 12 months)

Location: Detroit, MI

JOB DETAILS

• 6+ years' experience in developing software with expert-level expertise in multiple programming languages and methodologies
• 4+ years' experience developing native apps on mobile platform: Android
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience/certifications
• Experience developing Universal apps supporting UI for varying screen sizes (e.g. phones and tablets)
• Experience with 3rd Party SDK integrations such as Google Maps and other open source libraries
• Experience packaging and publishing applications on Google Play
• Working knowledge and experience of SOA using RESTful web services and API platform integrations
• Understanding of latest trends in mobile technologies,
• Demonstrated understanding of mobile industry trends, development products and environments as well as best practices for mobile application design and development

Preferred

• Experience developing apps for diverse Mobile platforms
• Excellent knowledge of working with dynamic data using services (e.g., JSON, XML, REST APIs etc)
• Experience with Android testing frameworks such as Espresso
• Experience with Data Modeling, Networking, and Push Notification frameworks
• Experience with Android Wear technologies
• Experience with Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins
• Experience with GIT source code version control
• Experience with JIRA
• Active contributions to OSS projects
• Relevant technology certifications
• Experience in waterfall and/or agile software methodologies
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical ideas in easy to understand business terms
