Role Summary
Candidate will be responsible for Managing GCC's System maintenance and Content releases using software development life cycle and release management methodologies to deliver successful releases. Apply software development, IT operations and project management skills and experience to manage releases as projects and triage issues. Able to work with cross-functional teams including project management, development, change management, operations and sustain teams.
Key Responsibilities
– Assists in planning, executing and closing successful releases.
– Develop release plans and conduct reviews with all impacted parties.
– Work with release team to deliver quality releases.
– Frequent contact with others outside the work group.
– Provide clear and accurate status reports.
– Facilitate issues/problem resolutions.
Specifically, the IT Operations Analyst I in the Release Management discipline:
– Participates in the development and implementation of release planning process improvements
– Participates/leads release planning sessions
– Conducts release planning sessions
– Is familiar with release content
– Works with on and off-shore Release Team resources
– Participates in scheduled releases
– Work as liaison between technical teams to enable successful system implementation and trouble shooting.
– Work with business partners to develop implementation schedules.
– Create and provide status reports.
– Good knowledge and experience in technical triages.
– Provide and support release improvement opportunities.
Required Skills and Experience
College degree in IT or Engineering related curriculum or equivalent work experience.
o Excellent level of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues.
o 3-5 years of technical trouble shooting experience (incident management role)
o Good understanding of relational Data base structures
o Strong understanding of operational procedures and protocols.
o Strong Analytical and Problem solving skills.
o Experience in IT operations and ITIL best practices
o Software Implementation experience
o Good working knowledge of VM ware, Oracle Data Base, Linux, Windows, Web logic, Java and network protocols.
o Strong organizational skills and attention to details
o Demonstrates initiative by reaching beyond work assigned to improve output and/or help others
o Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and significantly complex projects and assignments with high level of autonomy and accountability for results
o Demonstrated ability in lead projects with coordinating the work of others
o Demonstrated ability in use of Microsoft Office software including MS project.
o Minimum 7 years' experience in the IT field
