Position:- C++ Applications Developers with Core Java
Location:- San Jose, CA
Duration:- 12+ Months
MOI:- Telephonic + Skype
Requirements:
· Strong C++ and Java skills required
· Working in C++ the majority of the time for the first year. Then the role will be primarily in Java – as the legacy system is migrated. Ideally a candidate will need to be skilled in both languages.
· Demonstrable programming abilities in Java and other languages like Python. Understanding of algorithmic techniques, design patterns and best practices.
· Curiosity about how things work and the behavior of finding the answers. Flexible and adapting the changing circumstances, tenacious.
· Knowledge/experience with Unix. Knowledge/experience with relational databases, NoSQL databases. Knowledge/experience with applying Big O Notation to algorithms.
· Knowledge/experience with GitHub. Knowledge/experience with Service Oriented Architectures.
· Basic Quals: 4+ years and at least a BSE (or equivalent).
What you'll do
· Work in a scrum team implementing feature functionality in the Pricing system. Answering queries about the Pricing system for clients, tracking down and fixing defects. Being involved in design meetings to propose, discuss and refine new features and functionality.
· Be a technical leader within your team and within PayPal in general
· Be a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional agile team
· Build new APIs to enhance the portfolio of PayPal's 3rd most popular service.
· Build performance sensitive systems that serve tens of millions of requests each day.
· Build and take operational responsibility of C++/Java services that serve millions of users
· Be an active voice in architectural decisions for PayPal's core payments system
· Be a master of your own destiny errr code. Build robust testing scripts/systems to break our APIs and eventually fix them
