Position Summary Staff Tech is looking to provide our client with a qualified Red Hat Linux Systems Administrator to assist the team to support existing Linux based projects. The Consultant shall install, configure, upgrade and support Red Hat Linux operating system in the eCloud virtualized environment.
The Consultant shall perform all of the duties listed below:
• Deploy, maintain, implement and troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Linux based systems and applications on VMware.
• Maintain documentation of IT standards and best practices, systems implementation and configuration details.
• Maintain and audit user accounts.
• Build and maintain Linux templates on VMware.
• Track vulnerabilities and apply appropriate patches and upgrades.
• Maintain, upgrade and manage Satellite Server
• Provide support to customers and internal County organizational teams.
• Create and maintain file systems on SAN and NAS storage environment.
• Perform system enhancements and upgrades of operating systems and related products.
• Monitor performance of Linux systems and related environments and implement notifications to maximize system stability and performance.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support for production systems.
• Provide written status reports to County management upon request.
• Provide knowledge transfer to team members.
• Create shell scripts to automate tasks and perform basic data analysis.
Requirements
The Consultant must meet all of the following minimum qualifications:
• Three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years provisioning, installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux systems with emphasis on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years creating shell scripts to automate tasks and perform basic data analysis.
• Three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years diagnosing performance problems related to operating system, application, and network or memory/CPU utilization.
• Three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years managing and monitoring servers in production environments, including security and policy compliance.
• One (1) year of experience within the last three (3) years configuring and managing Puppet to automate deployment and standardized configuration across Red Hat Linux servers.
• One (1) year of experience within the last three (3) years maintaining the Logical Volume Manager (LVM) and creating file systems.
• One (1) year of experience within the last three (3) years installing, configuring and managing Red Hat Satellite Server to centralize and automate deployment of patches to Red Hat Linux servers, including providing written reports and monitoring the satellite environment.
• One (1) year of experience within the last three (3) years managing Linux servers on VMware.
