Position: Android Developer
Location: San Jose, CA
Duration: 6 Months

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

• The successful candidate is expected to possess hands-on experience writing a variety of fairly complex Android functions. Development skills in other areas (e.g., Node.JS, C/C++, Python, Swift) are a plus. Applicants with experience in video streaming and image processing will be given preference.

Responsibilities:

·         Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform

·         Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and build new features

·         Work with outside data sources and APIs

·         Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability

·         Work on bug fixing and improving application performance

·         Continuously Client, evaluate, and implement new development techniques

 Qualifications/skills required:
 

·         BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering plus 2 to 5 years' experience or equivalent work experience

·         2-3 years of Android specific development

·         Proven software development experience and Android skills

·         Experience with Android SDK/NDK

·         Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON

·         Experience with third-party libraries and APIs

·         Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies

Desired skills:

·         Experience with video processing and streaming

·         Experience with image processing

·         Solid grasp of the Android video layer

·         Background programing with OpenGL ES
(familiarity with GLSL ES is a plus)
