Title: Kafka Developer

Location: Rancho Cordova, CA

Long Term Contract

 

Responsibilities

• Perform hands on development of Kafka streaming integration solutions
• Develop Kafka Java producer and consumer with a various backend platform
• Create and configure Kafka integration connector prototypes 
• Create clear documentation of tests, work completed and prototypes.
• Recommend streaming integration best practices

 

Basic Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive IT experience, with demonstrated success in software design or development using Java Technologies
• Strong knowledge of Kafka Connect and Kafka java streaming library
• Strong lambda notation knowledge with concurrent Streaming API of Java 8 
•  Practical hand on development experience Apache Kafka with one of streaming platform (Flume, Apache Storm, Apache Spark) in large integration project.
• Proficiency in building, securing and deploying API's.
• Solid work experience with Web services and API technologies (REST, XML/JSON, SOAP, XSLT, Messaging).
• Hands-on experience in scripting tooling automation with Git or Jenkins or Groovy or equivalent.
• Ability to quickly grasp & learn new technologies and develop POC/prototypes.
• Good communication skills and extensive experience working with technical teams and management.
• Must have deployed Production ready apps and supported complete project lifecycles.
• Willingness to learn and share knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications

 

• Experience with Confluent platform preferred
• Scala development experience
• Involved with open-source platform commonly used in big data integration
• Knowledge of messaging system such as IIB, Rabbit MQ,
• Hadoop integration, Cassendra, HBase,
• Experience with Healthcare and/or insurance industry and/or implementation of HealthCare or Insurance systems.
• Good troubleshooting/debugging skills.
• Creation of clear documentation of tests, work completed and prototypes.
