Position: UNIX/Linux system Engineer

Location: Philadelphia, PA (Local or nearby state)

Duration: 12+months

Only GC or USC

 

Responsibilities 

·         This position is to support the sustained and new efforts supported by DNS Engineer & Operations, including Smart Internet support.

·         This work is mainly focused around standardizing platforms to make them consistent and stable, daily maintenance to keep the lights on; and deployment of any new services or features.

·         Over the course of these products, there have been many changes applied across the hundreds of systems, which has led to inconsistencies across the platforms.

·         These inconsistencies have led to outages and increase time to resolution

Requirements:

·         Network and systems automation skill required

·         UNIX/Linux system administration experience required

·         Operational problem solving skills required

·         Thorough understanding of the DNS protocol desired

·         Salt, Puppet or Ansible experience a plus

·         CCNA or equivalent workplace experience a plus

·         Experience with virtual machines a plus

·         Night/weekends and on-call duty may be required
