Domain: Finance and Mortgage

 

Basic Requirements 
-College Degree or equivalent experience; work towards advanced studies/degree preferred. 
-Typically has 4 - 6 years related experience. 
-4-6 years of experience in design and development of mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, SAS, DB2, CICS. 
-Java proficiency desired, although this is subordinate to the need for COBOL experience. 
-Ability to interact directly with the customer on either production support or project related efforts. 
-Hands-on experience with Build and Deployment tools (e.g. ISPW) 
-Good knowledge of database concepts. 
-Innovative in providing solutions, likes to take on challenges with calculated risk. 
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent working experience 

Typical Responsibilities: 
Understand Business Requirements; participate in Requirements Analysis; identify solutions working with Architects; design Applications based on System Requirements and Architecture, prototype if necessary, develop, unit test and deploy application. Comply with the department /EA application standards and general industry mainframe based COBOL, JCL, SAS, CICS, DB2 and to a much lesser degree distributed platform JAVA application development principles, theories, concepts, documentation and techniques. Contribute to application development project tasks and goals and participate in producing high quality of design and code via reviews. Provide production support that includes evaluate defects, investigate cause and come up with solutions to address defects. 
-Understanding business requirements participating in Requirements analysis. 
-Designing and developing applications based on system requirements and architecture, prototyping if necessary. 
-Performing unit testing and deploy applications. 
-Comply with the department and industry application standards based on mainframe application development principles, theories, concepts, documentation and techniques. 
-Contribute and participate in design and code reviews. 
-Ability to work concurrently on projects as well as production support. 
-Provide production support that includes evaluating defects, investigating root cause and come up with solutions to address defects. 

Preferred Skills 
-Familiarity with Mortgage Industry. 
-Works under normal supervision with the ability to work independently once given clear direction. 
-Good communication skills both verbal and written. 
-Proactive in nature with customer satisfaction as primary goal. 
-Quick learner of new technologies and tools. 
-Ability to multi-task
