Need : Cassandra Couchbase Administrator

Duration: 1 year.

Location: Irving, TX

 

Job responsibilities :            

·         Administration, management, and tuning of the following components: Cassandra, Couchbase, Storm, Kafka, Spark, Solr

·         Working knowledge and configuration management in zookeeper

·         Work with 3rd party vendors to troubleshoot as necessary

·         Collaborate with the infrastructure team to coordinate OS-level patching and to identify and solve hardware related issues

·         Capacity Planning / Forecasting

·         Planning and conducting platform upgrades

·         Assist development staff in identifying the root cause of slow performing jobs / queries

·         Develop strategy to automate management and deployment processes (DevOps)

·         Work with development staff to ensure all components are ready for release / deployment

 

Required Skills :

 

Strong UNIX/Linux knowledge including the ability to understand the interaction between applications and the operating system and to provide recommendations and suggestions related to troubleshooting and performance improvement.

·         Experience administering a reasonably-sized Hadoop cluster (20+ nodes).

·         Experience with the Cloudera distribution is preferred.

·         Experience with at least one of the following:

·         Cassandra (Must have)

·         Couchbase (Must have)

·         Pig / Hive (Must have)

·         Storm

·         Spark

·         Solr

·         Some knowledge of general JVM tuning

·         Basic understanding of networking. No need for network administration or deep networking skills.

·         Team player with strong inter-personal skills.
