Job Description
- This person will need to know the ins and outs of Oracle SOA Administration and help mentor the team on best practices and help set up processes. Development experience is a plus since they'll be working with other teams actively development.
- The SOA Suite Administrator contract position will be in the Enterprise Platforms department within the – Application Services organization. The mission of the SOA Suite Administrator is to maintain, and enhance the enterprise implementation of Oracle SOA Suite to provide a high performing and highly available integration platform.
- The ideal candidate would have extensive experience with Oracle SOA Suite, a solid history of Linux administration skills on high-availability systems, experience integrating disparate systems using an ESB architecture, and some level of Oracle SOA Suite 11g or higher administration experience. The candidate's level of technology experience is expected to be high.
- A significant percentage of this role will be in SOA Suite Administration and they will be responsible for the stability, performance, and scalability of this enterprise environment.
- The successful candidate will mentor staff members that are still growing their knowledge in this area. It is important that the level of knowledge in Oracle SOA Suite is exceptional.
Job Requirement
Education
4-year degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering
Experience
- Supporting and administering
• Oracle SOA Suite 12c experience or Oracle SOA Suite 11g
• Oracle 11g experience or greater
• Oracle 11g OEM experience or higher for administration of Oracle Products
• Linux Red Hat Enterprise Edition experience
• High-availability environment design
• Server virtualization technologies (ESX)
- Developing with or against
• Oracle Fusion Middleware and related technologies (ESB,
• BAM, BPEL, Process Manager, EDI, ODI, OSR, and various adapters)
• Java J2EE development experience using IDE like Eclipse
• Bash or other shell scripting experience
Other beneficial experience
• Experience with other ESB related products like Microsoft
• BizTalk 2006 or higher are a plus
• Excellent understanding of XML, XSD, XSLT, WSDL, and WSDL versioning best practices.
• Strong understanding of Service Oriented Architecture concepts
• Experience in monitoring, tuning, and maintaining Oracle Databases

Job Responsibilities
• Assist with the implementation of the Oracle SOA Suite platform. Work with internal systems engineers, server support analysts, database administrators, and developers to ensure that all aspects of the product installation, configuration, and underlying systems and infrastructure are meeting the functional, performance, and availability requirements of the enterprise.
• Perform regular administration and maintenance of the Oracle SOA Suite system – supporting multiple production, test, and disaster recovery environments. Evaluate and apply appropriate patches and upgrades to keep the system current, secure, and supported. Perform analysis and tuning to optimize system performance and availability.
• Leverage the Oracle SOA Suite administration console, alerting, system logs, and other means to monitor and respond to problem conditions in a timely and effective manner to prevent unnecessary performance issues or other operational delays. Verify and adjust monitoring tools and event-response procedures to optimize system performance and availability.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on all components and features of the Oracle SOA Suite system. Evaluate upcoming features, trends, and companion products. Identify product gaps and the need for reusable code modules that may require custom development or product purchases. Create and maintain the functional and technical specifications, test plans, and implementation plans for any features or products that will be added to the environment.
• Develop, document, adhere to, and communicate guidelines, processes, and standards for the Oracle SOA Suite platform and system administration. Create scripts and/or database jobs to automate routine tasks wherever appropriate and possible.
• Consult with developers as needed to perform design reviews as well as to determine best practices and standards for Oracle SOA Suite development in a manner consistent with overall development standards.
• Assist developers with deployment and troubleshooting of interfaces.
• Participate in a 24 x 7 on-call rotation for after hour support or planned maintenance
