Java developer with Docker/cloud  and Ruby/ Python/ Bash  | Seattle, WA

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement and test solutions based on provided requirements, using a mix of open-source, enterprise and in-house technologies, using commonly accepted patterns and practices
• Write design documents and present them to the team and our internal customers
• Develop new patterns, reference implementations, or shared libraries to solve complex challenges which impact cloud readiness
• Support, operate and maintain the team's products
• Consult with internal customers (mostly other engineering teams) to understand their use cases and assist in designing solutions
• Participate in hiring and mentoring of new employees
• Stay abreast of industry best practices and contribute ideas for design improvements and new capabilities

 

Requirements:

• Versatility and desire to stretch your own boundaries
• Effective at working in a collaborative, team environment
• Strong object oriented programming ability; bonus if it's Java
• Usable skill with at least one scripting language (e.g.: Ruby, Python, Bash)
• Proficiency with Linux
• Excellent understanding of micro-service architectures and the operational challenges they present
• Experience designing solutions and leading collaborative design discussions
• Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Extra Credit for:

• Hands on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, monitoring solutions, and build system engineering
• Comfortable presenting in front of a group
