Title: Senior System Analyst

Location: Amelia, OH

 

Requisition Details:

 

The System Analyst will work with the project team and operations team to document the current nightly batch processes and policy conversion processes.  Process flows, required input, dependencies and output must be clearly defined.  Once these processes are clearly defined, work with the project and operations team to define the most practical approach for testing each of these processes on a regular basis.   This approach should clearly define system requirements for the test environment, test data requirements and volumes, skills and resources needed to execute.  A repeatable process should be defined and documented. 

 

Ideally, this position would then facilitate the recurring test cycles by setting up a schedule for the testing, coordinating the pre work setup for a test with the appropriate teams, have the ability to initiate the tests (which are batch processes), collect the results, create a test report and create tickets to the appropriate teams to investigate test issues.

 

This position will need to be able to work with a cross function team ranging from developers, tester, system admins, system monitoring, DBA …..

 

Note:  Once we have the testing methodology laid out, some of the test runs may need to be performance outside of normal business hours.

 

Required Experience:

 

·        The Systems Analyst will act as a liaison between various IT Teams to elicit, analyze and document requirements and evaluate alternatives to satisfy those requirements. As the Systems Analyst, you will translate complex  requirements into detailed functional, technical, security, data, and system performance requirements

·        The Systems Analyst will also participate on project teams throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to ensure the requirements are satisfied, working collaboratively with architects/designers, developers and testers.  In addition, the Systems Analyst is asked to complete or assist the IT teams in completion of SDLC deliverables required for the project. Finally, they will participate in problem determination and resolution of defects as part of production support activities.

·        Minimum of 5 years of experience as an IT Analyst, performing analyst type functions. 

·        Experience and ability to follow a formal Software Development Life Cycle process is also required.

·        Strong analytical and problem solving skills as well as strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate technical ideas to both technical and non-technical people.

·       Strong facilitation skills to capture system requirements accurately and completely as well as effectively lead cross-functional groups is also required. 

·       Strong coordination skill to organize and align resources to meet project deliverables.

·        A Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Communications, or equivalent Systems Analyst experience is required.

 

 

 

Preferred Experience:

 

·        Experience working with distributed Web technologies/platforms and IBM mainframe systems is strongly preferred.

·        3 years of experience in the P&C insurance industry is strongly preferred

·        Familiarity with mainframe jobs and their dependencies

·        Experience with workload automation/batch scheduling tools such as Control-M
