JOB DESCRIPTION:

 The client is looking for a strong MySQL DBA preferably with production support experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Encore Software Services is looking for a MySQL DBA with strong skills that can help guide the DBA Team in the following areas:

Backup: Physical vs Logical Backups, Cold vs Hot Backups, Point in Time DB Recovery and Refreshes, MySQL Enterprise Backup, MySQL Dump, Percona Xtrabackup.

Performance Monitoring: MySQL Enterprise Monitor. (Install, configure and custom alerts).

Performance Monitoring: Custom MySQL DB Health Check shell scripts.

Performance Monitoring: PHP and MySQL experience (can create DB Health Dashboard).

DB Tuning: O/S and DB Instance parameters and utilities; Able to identify and resolve DB Instance level performance bottlenecks.

SQL Tuning: Identify and Tune Top Slow queries, Able to identify and resolve SQL performance bottlenecks

Continuous Availability: HA and DR techniques to provide Continuous Availability of the MySQL DB. Hands-On experience with native MySQL or Third-Party Master-Slave or Master-Master DB Clustering native techniques.

 AWS experience is plus. 

SQL Server Experience is a PLUS
