ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Financial Reporting & Analysis Lead will provide key analytic support to management reporting process.
Key responsibilities will center on analysis of the corporate P&L, with a focus towards key drivers, trends, and risks/opportunities.
In addition, this individual will focus on key P&L segmentation and work with members of the Finance team in the UK as well as the IHC Finance team in NY and share responsibility for accurate and timely Parent Company reporting
Monthly Financial Close support & analysis, including creation of the monthly P&L reporting file, Barclaycard key value drivers & results data, and financial reporting within the BCUS CFO Hyperion ESSBASE environment
Explain variances between actuals and various forecasts for management reporting.
This is to include in-depth analysis and reporting of P&L line items, with a focus towards key drivers, trends, and if variances are future risks/opportunities, timing, or one-time
Creation of monthly segmented fully-loaded P&Ls, including Partnership, Branded and Business Card
Assist with Barclaycard Cluster Finance and IHC Finance interactions, including monthly Barclays charges & exchange rate impacts, regular ad hoc analysis, and quarterly Investor Relations and margin analysis requests
Assist with the management of the Account & Segment Profitability Database (ASP), specifically ownership of monthly Feeder table updates, and support of the by-partner and by-vintage P&L build & reporting process
Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of the current reporting and analysis processes within Hyperion ESSBASE
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Basic Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 5 years of experience with analytics in Bank Cards or related financial service industry; an understanding of a credit card P&L is a big plus for success in this role
Experience with Hyperion ESSBASE required
Very high attention to detail and sense of urgency required
Strong written and verbal communication skills required
Result oriented with the ability to bring closure to issues through working well with individuals and teams throughout the organization
Ability to handle variety of responsibilities, meet deadlines, and drive change in a matrix organization
PREFERRED SKILLS
Very high proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Excel
