Job Title: MicroStrategy Developer(GC or USC and Local Only) Location: Charlotte NC Duration: Long Term Job Description:- We are looking for a Micro Strategy expert to join our team as a Senior Applications Developer. Job Summary: Plans, designs, and coordinates integration of new applications and modifications of existing applications of moderate to high complexity by performing the following duties. Essential Job Duties: - Analyzes, defines, and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs for both new and existing applications.
- Oversees large, complex, higher visibility projects or more than one project, including planning; assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work; evaluating results, etc.
- Complete understanding of the SDLC lifecycle and the requirements associated with maintaining SOX compliance.
- Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge in field of specialization and has well-developed leadership skills, operating with considerable latitude for un-reviewed action or decision.
- Provides mentoring of development staff on current and newly obtained development technologies.
- Develops, codes, tests, debugs, maintains, modifies, and installs applications. Implements and uses monitoring techniques ensuring optimal application performance during and after deployment. Ensures development efforts meet expectations as outlined within business requirements. Provides technical assistance by responding to inquiries from others regarding errors, problems, or questions about programs and/or hardware.
- Develops and maintains technical specifications. Analyzes and estimates feasibility, costs, time, and compatibility with existing applications/hardware during the business requirements process.
- Consults with business units to gather information about application needs, objectives, functions and features as well as input and output requirements.
- Plans and prepares documentation on the development and functioning of enterprise applications.
- Assists in the training of end users or technical support staff to use applications and/or associated hardware.
- Participates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay apprised of new development technologies.
- May perform other duties as required.
Scope of Responsibility: Works independently by following established practices and procedures while occasionally having work monitored. Knowledge and Skill Requirements: - Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals. Ability to respond to common application related inquiries or complaints providing feedback to the inquiring party that is tailored to their technical level
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Uses intuition and experience to complement data
- Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Business Intelligence (BI) Skills: - Advanced experience with Micro Strategy, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Analytical Services (SSAS)
- Advanced experience accessing data sources, including cubes, tables, views, workbooks and social media feeds
- Advanced experience creating complex dashboards, reports and mobile applications using best practices
- Advanced experience analyzing application performance and tuning
Education and Experience:- Bachelor's degree; Advanced degree and/or system certification preferred; and 6 - 8 years related experience and/or training. Should be able to clearly demonstrate application architectural experience involving complex systems. |
