Job Description:
· The Tx.DMV is responsible for vehicle registration, titling, and licensing; issuance of motor carrier operating authority; motor carrier enforcement; licensing of vehicle dealers; and awarding of grants to law enforcement agencies to reduce auto theft and increase public awareness.
· There are over 400 FTEs located at TxDMV headquarters in Austin and 16 regional offices across the state.
· TxDMV partners with the county tax assessor collector's in the state's 254 counties to provide service to approximately 21 million customers.
The Worker shall provide the following services:
1. General Tasks
· Review, modify, and test existing Cognos reports or cubes.
· Code and test new Cognos reports or cubes, in accordance with TxDMV standards.
· Create and maintain databases and data models for the business
· Manage the configuration of the Cognos environment and maintain user access and security
· Develop and maintain ETL processes using Informatica PowerCenter.
· Provide high-level technical direction for both reporting and ETL, including new report and ETL development
· Mentor other report analysts
· Research data issues within existing Cognos reports
· Create design documentation.
· Provide support during non-standard business hours.
2. Problem Resolution
· Diagnose production problems and perform resolutions.
· Assist internal and external users in their production problem diagnosis and resolution.
3. Training
· Train and document sufficiently to enable TxDMV personnel to provide maintenance and ongoing support to any code written during project assignments.
· Log and document problems and solutions.
· Provide on-the-job-training in problem resolution techniques.
4. Prepare and provide weekly project status reports to the RTS application manager(s) and other management.

3 Experience developing program specifications and test plans
3 Experience programming in Cognos Bl product suite (eg, Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Query Studio) including Framework Manager
2 Proficiency with SOL-based DB analysis
2 Proficiency with Informatica PowerCenter 9.6
2 Proficiency with IBM DB210
2 Ability to translate business requirements into specifications that will be used to implement required reports and dashboard requirements
Strong Communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
Preferred skill requirements in years
Years Skills/Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree, including minimum of 12 hours in management science, computer science, information systems, and/or data processing
1 Within the last 3 years, experience with Informatica PowerCenter for ETL development
1 Within the last 3 years, experience with Dimensional Database design (Data Warehouse)
1 Within the last 3 years, experience designing and implementing data models using Cognos Framework Manager
1 Within the last 3 years, experience with IBM DB2 DBA activities such as creating indexes and partitions
1 Within the last 3 years, experience accessing Linux server environments. Knowledge of Web application server architectures and security systems administration
