Title: Jr. Java Developer

Duration: 3+ Months

Location: San Francisco, CA

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Master degree in Computer science or Equivalent
• Java Certification preferred

Requirements:

• 4-5+ years of Java/JEE development experience along with Spring, MVC, REST, and API Services
• Solid experience in Information Retrieval with applications in text classification, clustering, and indexing
• Familiarity with various encryption algorithms and security protocols
• Hands-on experience with Java Web Servers, preferably with large, complex implementations, (including consuming and publishing API's)
• Experience in OOP and OOAD methodologies and principles
• Deep understanding of common algorithms, data structures and design patterns
• Experience with agile software development methodologies and principles
• Experience developing database driven applications, both in SQL (e.g. MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g. MongoDB)
• Prior experience of developing and deploying applications to the Amazon Web Services (using EC2, RDS, ELB, SQS, SNS, etc.)
• Familiarity with Java Application Servers such as Jetty, Glassfish or Tomcat

 Nice-to-have:

• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience with horizontally and vertically scaling-up web applications
• Appreciation for Test Driven Development (TDD) and test automation
• Experience with open source Natural Language Processing tools
• Exposure to open source search technologies, such as Solr or ElasticSearch
