Job: Senior Network Engineer 

Location: Cleveland, OH

Duration: 6 month Contract 

They are looking for someone that has high level Engineering, architecture, design, and troubleshooting background, and preferably some leadership background as well / looking for someone with CCISP and CCNP is mandatory

 

Must have the following: • Strong hands on experience with WAN Technologies (MPLS, VPN, GRE, DMVPN, IWAN, WAAS) Switching (Capacity Planning, Design, VLANs) • Solid understanding of Layer 2 and 3 Protocols including Spanning Tree, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP OTV • Experienced in network design and migrations in large enterprise environments, implementing advanced, complex, secure networks including wireless and remote access • In-depth knowledge and experience in standard Cisco routing/switching systems, (IOS, NX-OS) and protocol operations in an enterprise network

 

 

MUST HAVE CCMP / CCIS CERTIFICATIONS / CORE ROUTING / SWITCHING MOST IMPORTANT/ high level leadership, architecture, design, engineering, and troubleshooting

 

but will take contractors / will interview and hire immediately!!!! / NO H1's, prefers candidates

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):

1. Configure, deploy, and maintain routers, switches, and other network devices
2. Works on design, implementation, and support activities for network switches, routers, infrastructure cabling and wireless solutions
3. Acts to resolve technical issues including network down, intrusion, and performance. Must consistently demonstrate solid analytical and troubleshooting skills
4. Monitors network for potential performance and availability issues
5. Prepares required network documentation to aid in troubleshooting, disaster recovery practices, security initiatives, and cross-training
6. Experienced with performing root cause analysis, risk identification, and risk mitigation
7. Respond to, troubleshoot, resolve, and escalate network-related incidents and problems
8. Keeps current on network technology issues through seminars, publications and self-education on an on-going basis
9. Direct projects / teams comprised of IT technical experts and business representatives
10. Provide Systems Maintenance request and test plans. This includes making recommendations for standards

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

1. Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or equivalent relevant experience
2. 7-10 years of supporting and designing enterprise networks and technologies
3. Strong hands on experience with WAN Technologies (MPLS, VPN, GRE, DMVPN, IWAN, WAAS) Switching (Capacity Planning, Design, VLANs)

7. Cisco Certifications a plus
8. Highly motivated, self-starter, customer centric, and the ability to work without supervision
9. Demonstrates flexibility in responding to unexpected demands. Contributes willingly during emergencies and other necessary situations during and/or after regular work hours. This position requires night and weekend work along with on-call
10. Excellent oral and written communication skills
