Job Title: SQL DBA
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Duration: 12+ Months/Contract
Interview: Telephonic and Face 2 Face
Education level and/or relevant experience(s)
- BS/BA degree in Engineering and/or Computer Science or related work experience required, Masters Preferred.
Works closely with application developers, vendors, system administrators and auditors ensuring best practices for the physical database design, integrity, performance, and security management..
Knowledge and skills (general and technical)
- 10+ years of design and development of high performance messaging and transaction processing systems preferably in the financial or telecom industries.
- Strong Oracle database administration skills with Oracle 10g,11g and 12c databases.
- 10+ years of experience with SQL Plus, RMAN, UNIX Cron, Perl scripting.
- 8+ years of OLTP and data warehousing experience with mid and large size databases.
- 8+ years of experience with Strong Oracle Performance Tuning skills.
- 8+ years of experience with Oracle PL/SQL.
- Ability to collaborate with business and technology teams to create practical, robust and scalable architectures and solutions meeting the business and technology goals/strategy of the organization.
- 10+ years of experience with UNIX and Windows operating systems.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
- Technical leadership and mentoring skills to guide and act as SME.
- Ability to conduct code reviews and work with build and automationtools.
- Ability to research and present results and recommendations.
- Exceptional problem solving skills
- Keen to learn new technology with enthusiasm and critical thinking
- All the following requirements are preferred and a big plus :
- RMAN backups and restores along with flashback
- Oracle SQL and DB tuning expert. Well versed in analyzing ASH/AWR/ADDM reports and coming up with actionable resolutions
- Goldengate (replication tool) admin and tuning/troubleshooting
- OEM12C - 12C Cloud Control configuration to monitor databases
- Day to day DBA work - Monitor the databases logs , backup and space usage, reviewing the AWR reports to detect pattern/issues in production, critical test databases
- Knowledge of Exadata/RAC is a big plus
Other requirements (licenses, certifications, specialized training, physical or mental abilities required)
