MUST have experience retrofitting Legacy applications in VB and Access over to C#, ASP.NET. Any candidate without in-depth experience with legacy applications in VB/ VBA and Access will be ruled out.

.NET Developer – UCI "AP UCPath Consultant:
Location: On site at UCI in Irvine, CA
Length: 9 month contract
About project/Responsibilities:
UCI needs a consultant to come in and assist with the design, build, and testing of changes to their legacy applications to be compatible with project. This is called UC Path—the movement and development of all UC HR/Payroll systems over to Peoplesoft application.
This person will achieve compatibility by creating new apps built with modern technologies (C# , ASP.NET) and by building retrofits to work with their existing applications. Majority will likely be retrofitting instead of rewriting due to project timeline.
This person will meet with teams across the space to access and determine what is best for each app: retrofit or rewrite.
Current technologies Access/old VB. Legacy Systems ? over to C# ASP .NET.
Do not expect the project to be done at end of 9 months (if so that's great!) but substantial part of work to be done during that period.
Must Have:
Key experience: retrofitting legacy applications – perhaps some converting to new .NET, but most expected to be retrofitted
Full stack .NET developer with REST and JSON ideally (Just SOAP is ok)
Database Analysis experience
Willingness to work with legacy systems written in VBA and Access
Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with stakeholders, conduct business requirement conversations, and host meetings independently
Ability to work well in a time constraint environment with multiple eyes on the project progression
Strongly prefer:
VBA/Access experience
Retrofitting exp – not the same as enhancements and modifications.
Timeline:
20 min phone screen with HR (almost immediately upon submittal.. grab availability plz)
45 min tech screen with team
F2F with team that includes add'l tech screening
