Sybase developer (.NET Framework) - Bid closes April 10th

Position : Sybase developer (.NET Framework)

Location : Albany, NY

Duration : 24 months (Onsite)

Rate : $55hr

Short description of the project :

 

Maintenance of custom software applications that support nutritional programs including:

                           

•       Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC)

•       Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CACFP) 

 

This position is necessary to provide ongoing support, maintenance and enhancements to information systems supporting the above programs.

 

Day to day tasks to be performed by the Consultant :

 

Candidate would function in a developer and analyst role on multiple software development projects, primarily working with PowerBuilder and Sybase ASE.  Candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in the development of new .NET applications.

 

Day-to-day tasks may include but are not limited to:

1. Work closely with Business Analysts to review specifications and ensure adherence to technical standards and system constraints.
2. Assist with system design and mockups.
3. Work with technical lead to provide work estimates for development efforts.
4. Develop application code based on specifications.
5. Adhere to defined development standards and best practices.
6. Participate in application database design as requested.  

7.       Perform unit testing of modules.

8. Work with technical lead in developing technical documentation as needed
9. Assist with the creation of test plans and identification of impacts.
10. Collaborate with QA team to investigate and resolve issues found during testing.
11. Assist with the resolution of technical/development issues across all environments
12. Participate in the development of the implementation and transition plans.
13. Document, communicate and validate technical requirements throughout the system development lifecycle

14.   Participate in project team meetings and work closely with the project manager and development manager to monitor and identify technical risks and issues.

Mandatory  qualifications :

1.       84 months of experience performing application analysis, design, troubleshooting, and coding for large projects using PowerBuilder 6.0 or later in a client server environment.

2.       60 months of experience creating stored procedures and triggers for large projects using Sybase ASE and Transact SQL.

3.       60 months of experience designing and creating database tables and structures for large projects using Sybase ASE.

4.       48 months of experience performing analysis, design, and development of reports using Sybase ASE.

5.       36 months of experience using Sybase SQL Anywhere to provide synchronization support for mobile applications.

6.       48 months of experience performing troubleshooting, analysis, design, and development of C#.NET applications, using .NET Framework 3.5 or above.

 

Bachelor's Degree in an Information Technology related field, from an accredited institution.

1.       A copy of the degree must be submitted with the Candidate Response Form.
