Position: Sr. DevOps Engineer
Location: Palo Alto, CA(Locals Only)
In person interview Required
Must have 11+ years of experience
Notes from Client:
· Co-led implementation of Ansible to manage server configuration, provisioning, software deployment, and automation of "routine" tasks
· Implemented ChatOps (Hubot + HipChat + Jenkins + Ansible) to interact with users allowing them to trigger and automate operational tasks such as: application deployment, maintenance page management, data center availability and protection, OS patching, and monitoring checks
· Led and co-led numerous CI/CD implementations, drastically shortening application deployments (some by 6+ hours)
· Primarily used Jenkins and Ansible for automation
· Migrated web operations from on-premise to AWS, using services such as:
· VPC, EC2, EBS, ELB, RDS, ElastiCache, Beanstalk, SES, IAM, S3, SNS, Route53, etc.
· Led provisioning, monitoring, and automated execution of NodeJS build server using NPM and Grunt
· Performed various development and system administration services for a leading non-profit organization (AARP) and watch manufacturer (Rolex), including but not limited to:
· Application / infrastructure architecture and automation
· Application (JBoss, CQ5/AEM6) and systems (RHEL6) administration
· Database (MySQL) and JCR/CRX (NoSQL) administration
· Splunk setup and configuration, in addition to creating Splunk alerts and dashboards
· CI/CD pipeline creation and automation via Jenkins
· Participated in 24x7x365 on-call duties and rotation
· Application development (Java, JSP, JavaScript, Python, Bash, etc)
· Training and production support
· Led PCI A-EP audit and supporting documentation for Web operations team
· Led disaster recovery (DR) implementation, documentation, and regular testing various reporting mechanisms and outputs
· Primary technologies used include but is not limited to:
Amazon Web Services (AWS), Linux (Redhat), Ansible, Jenkins, Splunk, Rundeck, Chef, Python, Nagios, OSSEC, NewRelic, Squid, MySQL (RDS), Hubot, CQ5, AEM6, Java, JSP, JavaScript, OSGi, Sling, JBoss, Tomcat, NodeJS

· Partner with engineering and product to design and build highly available and scalable web services on AWS
· Deploy, monitor, and administer web apps and underlying services on AWS and other cloud infrastructure platforms
· Manage our upgrade infrastructure and process for on-premise appliances
· Lead technology initiatives that drive scalability and reliability
· Improve the performance of our web applications and solve scaling issues
· Build tools and automation that eliminate repetitive tasks
· Participate in 24×7 operation support and on-call rotation
Qualifications
What you bring to the table:
· Experience as DevOPS engineer in a scalable production environment
· Knowledge of Linux systems administration and architecture
· Proficient working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) like EC2, EBS, ELB, S3, and Cloudfront in a highly available and scalable production environment
· You've worked in 24×7 production operations
· Skills to build smart, efficient automation using Python, Ruby and Bash
· Web apps? Java? Check
· Facility Jenkins continuous integration, Build, Release and Deployment, GitHub
· You can design a system for monitoring and reporting, based on our unique product needs (e.g. Nagios, Graphite, Cacti, AppDynamics, NewRelic, Splunk, Graylog etc)
· You act independently when necessary, creating and executing plans for maintenance and implementation
