Position Title: Software Systems Engineer

Duration: 12+ Month

Location: Branchburg, NJ

 

Responsibilities:

Top Required Skills 
- JavaScript - must be able to code from scratch & JQuery. 
- DOJO 
- HTML5 / CSS3 / Ajax 
- Oracle database - get data, place data, join data, and do some complex queries. Version 12c is preferred. 
- Python 
- Java and web services is a plus 
- Experience with Digit (related to Dojo) or mobile experience is a big plus. 

Job Description

This position is within NSS (Network Support Services). Overall, the NSS organization is responsible for evaluating tools and building applications to support VZW's Network Organization. 
- Specifically, this team is working on Network Geographic's Applications that are related to spacial data and mapping. These web-based mapping applications are used to map VZW's cellular coverage and collect/process data based on Geographic's. Any experience in this space is preferred but not necessary. 
- The application is web-based, with the Front End 80% converted from Flex and the Back End written in Java. This person will be responsible for migrating the flex code to JavaScript. They need to have an excellent understanding of front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery, and DoJo Frameworks. This project will focus on developing new code for advanced spatial and analytical features. 
- This position will also require familiarity with DEVOPS standards using Jira, Stash (interna version of GIT), etc. 
Need to come from an Enterprise-level environment.

- SQL and Oracle databases 
- REST/SOAP web services 
Desired Skills 
- Requires a bachelor's degree but would prefer a MS in area of specialty (Computer Science or Mathematics) 

Designs and codes from specifications, analyzes, evaluates, tests, debugs, documents, and implements moderately complex software applications; Under general direction, devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems. Provides high level written communications such as white papers, decision documents, or research papers; Identify, escalate and document production issues for the environment to confirmed delivery for client and business notification B.S. Computer Science, Geospatial Sciences or Applied Mathematics M.S. preferred.
