Job Description: As a CAPPS Technical Lead the Worker will perform highly advanced (senior-level) technical analysis work in support of CPA's Centralized Accounting and Payroll/Personnel System (CAPPS). Primary work will be related to CAPPS HR/Payroll, but may include work related to CAPPS Financials as needed. Work includes, but is not limited to, the following: providing technical oversight for CPA's CAPPS managed services vendor; monitoring and ensuring that the CAPPS architectural solution and infrastructure sizing are aligned with CPA requirements; assisting with general CAPPS maintenance technical activities; assisting with the gathering, development, and documentation of technical system requirements; communicating technical requirements to functional and/or technical staff; the review, assessment, and development of technical processes; provide support related to SLA notifications, monitoring, environment analysis, hardware/software evaluation, network troubleshooting, migration paths, coding standards, security standards, compare reports, application change management review, batch scheduling review; assisting with troubleshooting technical issues related to the software application and/or supporting infrastructure; assisting with testing activities as needed; assisting with the review of deliverables for quality and completeness on complex, cross-agency projects; and special project support provided to internal and/or external customers as may be needed.
WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to work with Customers, Project managers, Business SME's, IT SMEs and vendors.
- Must have Technical expertise with PeopleSoft, Oracle and AIX or Linux to ensure support for CAPPS customers.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must collaborate with SMEs, various stake holders and fellow developers to design, develop, implement and support complex business solutions.
- Must be able to work independently in a team environment with local and remote teams.
- Must possess strong problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task with readiness to put in extra efforts when necessary.
- Perform related work as assigned.
Requirements Minimum Skills Requirement in years
Years Skills/Experience
8 Experience with PeopleSoft HCM and/or FCM 9.1 or higher, People Tools 8.53 or higher, Peoplecode, Application Designer, SQL, PS Query, SQR, Application Engine, and Oracle 11 or higher,
8 Experience in PeopleSoft Security, Approval Workflow Engine (AWE) & Self-service (MSS, ESS)
5 Experience as Technical architect for HR and Payroll systems
5 Experience managing or leading technical Projects
5 Experience with AIX, Linux, Business Objects, and Data Warehouse
3 Extensive knowledge of/experience with data integration, data quality, multi-dimensional design, ETL tools, processes and methodology
Preferred skill requirements in years
Years Skills/Experience
Strong Strong interpersonal skill and the ability to collaborate effectively on diverse teams (e.g., portfolio/project managers, domain experts, users, and software engineering team)
5 Experience with Texas Statewide Systems and CAPPS
2 Experience working with Oracle/Taleo applications
2 Public sector experience (Federal, State or Local Government).
