Job Description:
Systems Engineering role develops computer systems and solutions, rather than software.
Major Role Responsibilities:
• Understands all or most aspects of the hardware and software within the system;
• Contributes to IT project delivery by providing general and broad technical expertise throughout all phases of the development life cycle, including technical assessments, troubleshooting, design and engineering activities in support of complex software and hardware systems comprised of many technical components;
• Installs and configures application software, both off-the-shelf and developed in-house;
• For business domains and large IT programs, coordinates the technical engineering disciplines to ensure a holistic design and all aspects of the potential solution are well integrated and functioning in harmony; and
• Leads the design and engineering of web services, middleware and web hosting technologies and implementations.

The Plant Network Security Improvement Program is a cyber-security initiative Pharmaceutical is undertaking to upgrade network security at sixty plus global manufacturing. The design (high level and detailed) phase was completed in 2016 and the program is now transitioning to the deployment phase. A group of thirteen design elements are planned for deployed at thirty sites in 2017, with the remaining sites planned for 2018 and 2019. The program requires a global program manager and a project manager.
The Two Windows Engineers will be based in Kalamazoo, MI and work with the program leadership to develop, document and implement assigned design elements of the program. The Windows Engineers will create detailed design and implementation instructions for windows server design elements. They will also work with three global deployment teams and a core group of resources working across all sites to implement those designs. These efforts will include: Remote Desktop Gateway, WSUS, SMTP gateway, and other Windows server services as required by the project. There will be also PowerShell scripts that will need to be developed and supported to assist in updating and supporting Windows client. One example of such a script will be to remotely change the TCP/IP DNS settings on Windows clients to support changes in sites Active directory topology.
