Position Description:
The Backend Developer, sometimes referred to as an Integration Developer and/or an ESB Developer, provides integration and development expertise for assigned systems. This role is responsible for leading interface design/development efforts between various systems creating web services deployed in the Enterprise Service Bus layer, providing analysis and implementation support for customized systems, and developing functionality based on defined requirements.
The Backend Developer will:
Collaborate with other development and integration team members to ensure SOA Integration technologies are properly implemented and maintained
Design, develop and document web services integrations and mediations and Java modules using standard methodology best practices
Create and maintain integration software documentation (scope requirements, logical designs, technical designs, testing plans, etc.)
Deploy the web services into the development and test environment
Create detailed deployment document for production
Analyze technical and business requirements to help define the scope of integration development initiatives and serve as a technical resource for sound development and integration practices
Provide reporting as needed to satisfy client requests
Develop effective, object oriented programs/modules that adhere to established requirements and conform to detailed design specifications
Maintain industry/technical knowledge base and facilitate/maintain industry relationships
Demonstrate commitment to providing customer-focused quality service.
Required Experience:
The Back End Developer with have at least two (2) years of FTE experience in at least one of the following:
Developing web applications using Java
Writing the back-ends of modern open-source web applications;
Developing and consuming web-based, RESTful APIs;
Writing web applications using a test-driven deployment approach;
Developing and executing automated unit, integration, and acceptance tests;
Configuring and executing load and performance testing;
Configuring and integrating enterprise user authentication tools;
Developing backend web applications that integrate with relational and non-relational database systems;
Handling large data sets and scaling their storage; and
Developing backend web applications that use scalable search technology.
Minimum of 2 yr. Associates Degree
Preferred Experience:
ESB Developer certifications
Enterprise integration development experience in any technology (TIBCO, Fuse, Oracle ESB, Biztalk or one of the FUSE-related derivatives like Servicemix would qualify)
Exposure and understanding of SOA orchestration / BPEL (Business Process Execution Language) tools. EngagePoint has used ActiveVOS but there are equivalent tools from IBM, Oracle and Open Source that provide similar functionality and implement the BPEL language standard.
HHS (Health & Human Services) experience such as development experience building MMIS, Child Welfare, and/or Eligibility & Enrollment systems.
