Role: QA Automation Engineer
Position Description: The focus of this position is to automate multiple test scenarios associated with a large Point of Sale project at L Brands. The duration of the role will be approximately 6 months from mid-February through mid-August. This role will involve working on scripting test cases in HP QTP, making configuration/framework changes, integrating with payment processing simulators. This role will report to the Automation Lead of the centralized QA Tools & Technology team for L Brands.
Position Qualifications
• Work with the Automation Lead to deliver automated scripts on one of the IT projects.
• Includes working on framework design, test data identification, development and debugging of automated tests and regular status updates to the automation lead.
• Strong experience designing test automation frameworks that maximize the reusability and maintainability of automated test cases. This includes designing the framework to accommodate efficient data management, synchronization, exception handling, verification, and logging / reporting of results.
• Expertise with HP Quick Test Professional, VB scripting.
• Ability to design and customize frameworks to the needs of the project.
• Good working Knowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server.
• Ability to work independently on assignments once scope and assignment is defined.
• Strong understanding of common Systems Development Lifecycle methodologies, including Waterfall and iterative approaches like Agile / Scrum.
• Exhibits strong written and verbal communication skills with IT and Business audiences.
• Excels at working in a project environment and on cross-functional teams.
• Consistently delivers day-to-day assignments with a high level of quality and attention to detail.
• Effectively communicate status, issues, risks and potential solutions to Automation Lead.
• Proactively applies a systematic approach to data gathering and analysis to make key decisions that are supported by facts.
• Retail / supply chain / Point of Sale background is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years' experience in Automation/Scripting roles
