Position: DB2 DBA
Location: Omaha, NE
Duration: 6 month contract
Visa : GC or USC only
B. Qualifications (provide description of required skills and experience):
Database Implementation and Design:
· Design and implement development, test and productiondatabases for maximal performance, scalability, flexibility, and reliability. Install and maintain DBMS software including patches, fixes and version upgrades.
· Work closely with developers to create and maintain schema objects, design and debug triggers, stored procedures and user defined
· Adhere to and make suggestions for improvements to shop standards functions.
· Problem Resolution
· Coordinates resolution of complex inter-domain technicalproblems.
· Resolves architectural issues and problems.
· Proactively identifies and resolves potential problems before they impact customers.
· Configuration Management
· For assigned technology domain configurations: analyzes technical requirements identifies and evaluates alternatives to meet requirements selects target solutions to meet requirements and obtains consensus and approval for target solutions develops migration plans and performs resource tuning.
Capacity Management
- Gathers capacity requirements / metrics, including SLOs.
· Applies historical trends to capacity requirements, performs forecast analysis, and builds / updates capacity forecasts for assigned technology domains.
• Primary Skill Required: Monitor and Maintain production ( break fix )
• Second Skill Required: Capacity planning / migration work
• Third Skill Required: Performance tuning
