Title: Sr. Android Software Developer
Contract: 12+ months.
Location: San Francisco, CA
MUST Skill by Manager:
The Must have stuffS are:
1. Experience in implementing UI components in Android (cannot have someone that didn't work on IDK/libraries solely)
2. Advance knowledge in the Java language.
3. At least 4 years of Android hand on development
4. Ability to work individually (with the designers and pm's)
5. Strong communicative skills
6. Has to be local (at least 4 days a week)
Nice to have:
1. Experience working with RxJava, Retrofit 2, MVVM design pattern, Dagger 2.
2. Experience in unit testing
3. Active in the Android community
4. Working in a user facing app.
5. Open source code
6. Active stack overflow account.
Candidate will be responsible for spearheading the development and implementation of the Android app. We are currently in hyper-growth mode, acquiring new customers aggressively. An ideal candidate would, therefore, be someone who can help and support the entire team through this rapid expansion phase.
Job Requirements
Role/ Responsibilities:
· Architect the development of Android application.
· Native Android app development and converting ideas, designs and requirements to concrete stable production builds.
· Coordinate and collaborate with the Product and Engineering team to understand problems, come up with creative solutions, and help with tracking and delivering within the release plan.
· Understand and implement Android specific design patterns.
· Develop and iterate within a rather lean, yet very fast-paced Engineering team
· Collaborate with Engineering and QA to resolve bugs.
· Be part of a productive and fun startup culture
Desired Skills and Experience:
· At least 6 years of native Android development experience.
· Extremely comfortable with understanding and implementing internet application with REST services at the backend.
· Super awesome with Android concepts like fragments, location services, Google Cloud Messaging API, UI transitions, Image processing and multi threaded communications, amongst others.
· Solid understanding of MVC, JSON and other android design patterns
· Knowledge in Android Studio and GitHub is a huge plus.
· B.S. or equivalent degree in Computer Science is desired
