Job Title: AWS Architect

Location: Dallas, TX

 

Job Description:

·         Years of Experience – 10+

·         Mandatory Skills – AWS (Cloud Formation, VPC, Packer, AMI, Beanstalk, S3, Security) Ansible, RHEL

·         Good Communication skill, Onsite experience

Responsibilities:

‪Design and implement configuration management best practices for software deployment

Migration of existing application hosted on client domain on to AWS cloud

Use Cloud Formation to create instances, AMIs, VPC, subnets, Security

Build, Deploy, and Manage AWS services (Cloud formation, EBS, EC2, S3, ELB, RDS, etc.)

Version control and source code administration

Manage and design build and deployment pipelines

Maintenance and upgrades of AWS cloud environments

Monitoring tools and deployment automation development

Diagnose complex systems issues with multiple influencing factors

Work closely with the development team on upcoming features to determine correct infrastructure and related tools.

Assist the support team with escalated customer issues

Research and recommend internal tool improvement and development

Develop scripts that support automation, innovation, and security initiatives

Incident response to system alerts during local day hours

Potential evening and weekend incident response may be required

Work effectively with teams across different teams

 

Must have/Basic Qualifications:

6+ years' experience in Linux System Administration

4+ years' experience scripting with bash, Ruby, Python and/or similar

4+ years' experience working in Amazon Web Services. Knowledge of AWS CLI a must.

4+ years' experience setting up and monitoring uptime and performance management tools (New Relic)

2+ years' experience managing databases SQL and/or NOSQL (Gemfire Preferred)

2+ years' experience in virtualization tools like Vagrant and Docker

Experience with Continuous Development/Deployment/Integration design and best practices

Experience managing and working with configuration management tools (Chef, Ansible)

Experience in Agile development practices (Kanban or Scrum)

Ability to see opportunities for improvement, take ownership and work closely with others to drive operational improvement

Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to correlate system behaviors based on known interdependencies between those systems

Ability to handle ambiguity, embracing change and helping others see it as an opportunity and able to stay focused on goals while adapting to change

Preferred Qualifications:

Experienced with SaaS-based vendor solutions

Experienced with Atlassian as an Agile development management tool (JIRA

Experience with various application architectures

Strong development background
