Role: Telecom Performance Simulation Engineer 

Location: Philadelphia, PA     

JD:

• Strong trouble-shooting and analysis skills and problem-solving ability

• Experienced Telecom test simulation engineer of telecom mobile apps, BSS and/or OSS systems

• Ability to give detailed analysis of client side performance of both web and mobile applications

• Experience establishing Performance Planning Strategy that outlines Current Production Workload distribution, Performance Requirements and Test/Production Environment Requirements and Performance Optimization results

• Very good understanding of networking and architectural frameworks and methodologies, a working knowledge of design of systems software required to produce the best possible system availability and performance.

• Experience in designing, developing Performance Tests strategy using industry standard tools such as LoadRunner, JMETER, and Service Virtualization tools

• Hands on experience with various APM tools such as HPD, Wiley, App Dynamics, SPLUNK, etc.

• Demonstrable expertise around specifying, designing, and/or implementing system health, performance monitoring tools, and software management tools for production environments

• Experience with telecom Network Performance Management (NPM) is a plus

Education:

B.S. in Computer Science or Engineering

 

JD :

 

 

• Simulate the designed end to end application performance across OSS, BSS and telecom systems, web portal and mobile apps. This would form baseline for ongoing performance assessments.

• Conduct end to end application performance assessment - develop test cases for OSS and BSS services that take a true End to End focus on client, server infrastructure, database and data integration jobs are performing as designed

• Analyze and identify gaps in app performance. Work with development teams to enhance system and app performance.

• Develop metrics for monitoring app and system performance and scalability

• Conduct trend analysis on critical/major applications and systems to identify performance degradation and institute preventative actions to eliminate future incidents.

• Accountable for providing technical assessment of complex changes across ecosystems to ensure resolutions of potential conflicts before impacting intra-/inter-related vertical systems. Develops and reports on metrics which show system uptime and overall service desk compliance to ITIL standards

• Conduct performance evaluations of new technology upgrades and critical software/ hardware changes and design and prepare performance/stress/redundancy test plans and scripts

• Collaborate with QA engineers, lead developers and solution architects and take initiative to advance the quality, performance and scalability of our applications by influencing the architecture and design of our products with 'operability' in mind

• Design and participate in the development and delivery of operability-related features such as system health monitoring, diagnostics and repair automation
