Ruby on Rails Developer

Washington, DC

Only OPT, GC EAD, USC, GC (NO H1Bs)

 

Who You Are:

·         7+ years of experience on a software development team

·         Ability to perform database design and modeling duties

·         Experience with Ruby on Rails, along with other common libraries

·         Good understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuances

·         Solid understanding of object-oriented programming

·         Good understanding of server-side templating languages

·         Good understanding of server-side CSS preprocessors

·         Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3

·         Familiarity with concepts of MVC, Mocking, ORM, and RESTful

·         A knack for writing clean, readable Ruby code

·         Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application

·         Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes

·         Able to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests

·         Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (GIT)

·         Familiarity with development aiding tools (Rake)

·         Familiarity with continuous integration

·         Experience with Object Oriented Programming, Design Patterns, Agile Software Development

·         Experience with Agile development processes, methodologies, and tools

·         Working Knowledge with Test Driven Development

·         Experience with high availability web service design

·         Aptitude and desire to learn new technologies
